I’m helping plan the 10 year high school reunion for the Science Academy of South Texas class of ‘97 and I created some fun pictures of my classmates to use on the website. Here are some samples of the finished portraits:

I thought that our memories are fading and people have changed in 10 years so these photographs simplify faces into their simplest shapes. Believe it or not these stylized images are clearly Sabas, Sarah, Jason and Krystal! Could you tell?

Here is how I created them:

• Photograph the yearbook (I don’t have a scanner)
• Crop a person from the book.
• Clear the background.
• Use the threshold tool to convert to black or white.
• Use the diffuse filter to blur the pixels.
